Catching up on a backlog that has crept in, or never thinking about it again thanks to a regular visit: two different requests, one way of working.
What a visit to your home covers
Routine upkeep covers every living space: vacuuming and washing floors, dusting furniture, shelves and skirting boards, cleaning kitchen surfaces, the worktop, the hob and the sink, disinfecting bathrooms, washing mirrors and reachable interior glazing, taking out the bins and putting the shared rooms lightly back in order.
A deep clean goes further, and earns its place once or twice a year or after a long absence: full degreasing of cupboard fronts and the extractor hood, descaling taps and shower screens, washing doors and handles, cleaning behind and under movable furniture, scrubbing switches, radiators and window runners. Allow roughly twice the time of a routine visit.
What we do not do is just as clear: we do not climb beyond a step stool, we do not handle valuables or fragile collections, we look after neither the garden nor the pets, and we carry out no pest treatment. Deep sorting of personal belongings also stays in your hands: we put things back in order, we do not decide what to keep.
The frequency is settled with you. A studio flat occupied by one person holds up perfectly well with a visit every fortnight; a family house with children and pets usually calls for a weekly rhythm so that we are not starting from scratch each time.

Air and sort the kit
Windows go open and microfibre cloths are split by zone: one colour for the kitchen, another for the bathroom, never the other way round.

High surfaces first
Light fittings, tops of cupboards, shelves: everything up high is dusted before any floor is touched.

The wet rooms
Kitchens and bathrooms need specific products and real contact time: this is the stage where rushing gains you nothing.

Floors last
Vacuum then wash, working backwards towards the door, so that nothing just finished is walked over again.
Questions about home cleaning
How long does a 60 m² flat take?
Allow two hours for routine upkeep in a home we already look after, and three to four hours for a first visit or a deep clean. Floor area matters less than the number of wet rooms and the starting condition: two bathrooms stretch the visit further than twenty extra square metres of living room.
Can I change the frequency later on?
Easily. Plenty of households switch to weekly in September and drop back to fortnightly over the summer. Let us know a week ahead so the round can be reorganised, and the rate follows the new frequency from the very next visit.
Is it a problem if I have a cat or a dog?
Not at all, provided you tell us beforehand: pet hair changes how we vacuum and how long it takes, and some animals cope badly with the machine. If yours is nervous, it is better to shut it in one room during the visit, and we will do that room last.
Do you clean inside the oven and the fridge?
Yes, but they have to be asked for explicitly: they are not part of routine upkeep because each one takes thirty to forty-five minutes of degreasing or disinfecting. Mention them when we quote and they will be built into the time set aside.
